We see our world through a lens colored by our beliefs. The choices we make every day serve to reinforce the beliefs we have about ourselves and others. If we believe that we are separate and apart from each other and from God, our life experiences will work to perpetuate and strengthen that belief. The current chaos and the deep divisions we feel based on political, religious, racial, gender, national, and economic conditions are a direct result of that false belief. Our continued refusal to challenge our false perceptions of self and our fellow human beings has led us to where we are today – overwhelmed by the world we created. We have ceded our power to institutions whose only goal is to retain power over the elements that comprise the material world.
As a result, institutions that once represented the ideals of integrity, justice, and freedom – institutions that were built on a foundation dedicated to the common good have lost their way. The people they once served are overwhelmed with the prospect of a future built on hatred and fear. The crush of existing in a consciousness state of crime, hate and chaos has had a significant impact on the most the vulnerable. It has resulted in anxiety and despair that continues to permeate and color our limited perspective of the world in which we live. As the physical, mental and emotional health of so many deteriorates we find no answers coming from these once trusted sources.
Ironically, this represents a unique opportunity for the spiritual development so necessary to our survival. The realization must and will occur that there are no answers out there, no common cure for what ails us whether it be physical, mental or emotional, no assurance of everlasting love, no guarantee of financial stability, no sustainable path to a safe and secure environment and no guarantee for happiness. The answers are not out there, or someone would have found them already.
Meditation is the road to Truth. It lights the way and provides a safe haven on our journey into the Light and out of the chaos of the world. It opens the door to a higher Christ consciousness where only the Truth can reside. It provides a way for us to communicate with Light Beings whose sole purpose is the salvation of mankind and our return to our rightful place in the heavens. It is our escape hatch from a world of insanity! It is our door to freedom.
I need not convince you of the benefits of meditation. An earnest student, willing and determined to know the Truth will experience the newness of being and will begin to see and experience Life through a new lens – eyes wide open. Life is not the mundane everyday events that that surround us. It is not your job. It is not your relationship with family and friends. It is not the challenges we face every day. It is not the bad. It is not the good. It is an energy and an intensity that is palpable and real. It is the flow of Love that moves through the universe and animates our bodies and sparks our minds. Meditation brings us to a state of consciousness wherein we gradually and imperceptibly begin to live Life in all its stunning beauty. When you open that door, Life flows into your being transforming your world.
Will you still have daily challenges? Of course. You live, move and have your physical being in the world of lower vibration but you will be in the world – not “of” it. And with practice and the guidance of your Higher Self you will gain dominion over the energy of this world.
Whether you are new to mediation or a seasoned mystic with a well-established meditation practice, we all have the same advantages that meditation affords. Meditation is free of charge, crossing the barriers that separate us economically. It is open to anyone no matter where on earth you live, what religion you embrace, what political ideology you identify with. In essence, it is the common ground we all have access to. And though we might meditate alone, we are not truly alone because we are sharing the same higher consciousness – wherein no conflict exists.
Peace on earth? Among the many side benefits of meditation is its effect on anxiety and stress. Daily meditation or interval meditation techniques can be used to center our minds and emotions, when faced with the day’s challenges. It helps to provide a clear space allowing creativity to flow unimpeded and diminishes overwhelming emotions and thoughts that raise anxiety levels. There is ample “proof” of mediation’s effect in the area of anxiety and stress. But its benefits don’t stop at the emotional, physical and mental levels. It provides a pathway to the freedom of the soul bound by means little understood by anyone who does not feel its restraint. It is not a religious experience although it may feel like one. It leads to the natural evolution of humanity transformed by dedication, devotion and unrestricted, unconditional Love. It prepares us for illumination and Truth.
